Gary Gladstone is known for images that combine a sense of design with a sense of humor, which is not unusual considering that this award-winning photographer's background includes comedy writing and comedy album production as well as photography for newspapers, national magazines and corporate/industrial clients.
His most recent book, Passing Gas....and Other Towns on the American Highway, is the result of a five-year odyssey through 40 states of the union, during which Gary explored strangely-named towns, noted their histories and then somehow convinced local residents that what they really needed to make their day complete was to have their pictures taken by a fast-talking New Yorker who dreamed of turning the words and pictures into a book.
The dream came true, and Gary had such a good time making it happen that he's currently dreaming up something new.
